an AU where jason stays at piper’s one christmas and tristan takes them to a charity event with all his actor buddies. and it takes him awhile to notice - a woman with hair the exact shade of his own, flirting with the bartender and slurping a piña colada - with piper’s hand in his, squeezing tight and somehow conveying that she knows and it’s alright. and it takes all he has not to tell this woman, to tell her the gods-honest truth as she cups his cheek and drunkenly cries about a son she once had, who had his big sister’s eyes and a scar on his lip (“just like yours.”) from when she wasn’t paying attention and he thought the stapler looked tasty.
